    About

    More than 25 years in business travel management, most recently four years as global process owner for travel and expense across two consecutive carve-out situations: first building a standalone function after the spin-off of Vitesco Technologies from Continental, then consolidating both landscapes after the acquisition by the Schaeffler Group.

    Before that, twenty years as managing partner of my own business travel company, with full responsibility for results and liability, four acquisitions and their integration, and implementation engagements with corporate clients.

    That sequence is why I know both sides. Anyone who is to put travel expense processes in order needs a view of contracts, card programmes and booking channels as much as of account assignment, tax and governance. In most organisations those two sit in different departments.

    2. 2024–2025

      Head of Global Mobility, Schaeffler AG.

      Re-integration of the Vitesco travel function after the acquisition; consolidation of governance, processes and system landscape for around 100,000 employees in more than 50 countries.

    3. 2021–2024

      Head of Global Mobility, Vitesco Technologies AG.

      Built and led the function after the spin-off from Continental; standalone structures for around 35,000 employees in 15 countries.

    4. 2000–2020

      Managing Partner, LCC Business Travel Fahrenkrog.

      Grown to 85 employees across nine locations, four company acquisitions with subsequent integration.

    5. 1996–1998

      Sales and Ticketing, Aeroworld Consolidator GmbH, Hamburg.

      International fare construction and airline distribution.

    Selected engagements

    • Consolidation of two SAP Concur landscapes after a group acquisition. Target architecture, add-on landscape and ERP and HR interfaces brought together into one process chain.
    • Global rollout of SAP Concur Travel and Expense. Requirements analysis across the country organisations, rollout waves, the travel policy reflected in the system, hypercare and a training concept.
    • Standalone travel governance after a spin-off. Global travel policy and compliance framework for 15 countries, anchored in the system rather than in a document.
    • TMC tender and supplier governance. Evaluation criteria, selection process, contract negotiation, and the governance structure that followed.
    • Group-wide workation programme. Regulatory assessment and country-specific approval logic across travel, HR, tax and legal.
    • Reporting architecture and CO₂ data quality. KPI dashboards and auditable data for Scope 3 and CSRD reporting.

    Availability and engagement

    Based in Berlin. Working remotely and on site, nationally and internationally. Working languages German and English. I take on mandates as an independent contractor, directly or through providers and framework agreements. Short pieces of work such as the assessment need only a few days' lead time; for interim mandates we discuss the start date.
